Knowledge Base Article #57:

How to Perform a Hard Reset

Question: How do I perform a hard reset on my PDA?

Answer: While pressing the power button, use the tip of an unfolded paperclip to gently press the reset button on the back of the device. When you see the Palm icon on the screen display, release the power button.  At the "Erase all Data?" prompt, press the top scroll button (Yes). After completing the Setup screens, do a fresh install of the Golden Rule Software or restore from Backup.

Note A: A Hard Reset will erase all data in the PDA! Never perform a Hard Reset unless a Soft Reset does not resolve the issue. Backup any information that you do not wish to permanently lose!

Note B: To ensure a fresh install, delete and re-enter the PDA user name in Palm Desktop.
