Medicare PPS RAP Billing: Lock Date Needed

Question: There are patients that are showing in the "unprocessed" section of the Pended Claim Report under  the "Tran Lock Date Needed". How do I correct this issue so that I may bill for these?


Answer: Go into the "CLINICAL" link, search for the patient, go to the "Oasis/POT/Suppl Orders" link, check the status of the Assessment. If it is "Incomplete" please complete, lock and validate the assessment. This will satisfy the "Tran Lock Date Needed" warning and will put the patient into the "Clean Claims" so that you will be able to bill. You can also go to "ANALYSIS AND REPORTING" under the operational grid, Assessment Tracking for assessments with a clinical status of either incomplete or complete to know which ones need to be validated.
